「Giro di Karuizawa」は、昨日、5月31日（日）お昼に２日間、350Kmの激戦の幕を閉じました。本来なら、ゴール後すぐに、ブログを書きたかったのですが、なにせ、なにせ、「・122」AMAZONとクラシックカーラリー初参加の我々は、悪戦苦闘、、、。精魂尽き果てて、その上、意気消沈、、、。ブログどころではなかった、、、というわけで、、、。ま、S大先輩とは、お互いの労をねぎらい、ささやかな打ち上げで、美味しいワインとフォンデュを頂き、爆睡、、、となってしまったワケです。結果は89台の出場車中、64位。とてもとても厳しい結果となってしまいました。ただ、今までのWRCを初めとするモータースポーツの経験とは、全く異なるクラシックカーラリーならではの難しさと面白さ、、、そして、モータリゼーションの歴史絵巻の様な往年の名車達とのコンペティション。人生をクルマと生きてきた同年代の人々、そして、先輩達との出会いと再会、、、。この２日間は、もの凄く充実したものとなりました。あっという間に２日間が終わってしまったのですが、我々「・122」AMAZONチームにも、多くのドラマと葛藤、、そして、抱腹絶倒のチョンボ、、まで、イロイロありました。このブログでは、スタートに遡り、「Giro、、」の奮闘記を順次記憶にとどめて行こうと思います。今日、軽井沢のS先輩邸から帰還し、AMAZONの洗車とワックスがけをして、さあ、書き出そう、、、と思っていたのですが、腑抜け状態。久々の緊張と疲労は、ただただ今日も眠気を誘います。明日から徐々に、「・122」AMAZONチームの悪戦苦闘記を書きますのでお許しください。


At noon, May 31st (Sun), the "Giro di Karuizawa" came to a close. The 2 day rally was held over 350km. I wanted to update this blog as soon as I crossed the goal line, but this being my first classic car rally, I was totally exhausted and very very disappointed and unable to update. I went out for fondue and wine with Mr. S. and just fell asleep that day. The result was that we finished 64th of a total of 89 entrants. Our first classic rally made us realize just how difficult and how fun the race was - and it was just great watching all those great cars that created the history of motorization running at full speed on normal roads. I met lots of people passionate about cars and also was able to reunite with old friends. The 2 days passed by in a blink, with lots of drama and episodes which were both challenging and amusing. I will start to work on writing out the details of my adventure, but for now, must go to sleep again.
